What initially made you decide to tackle this puzzle anyway? I don't think you've ever mentioned it.
How does it feel to be done? Surreal? Happy? Sad? A little of all three? LOL
I decided to do this as a means of therapy you could say. I was coming out of a broken relationship and needed something to focus on that would keep me busy for months. I think "surreal" is the best description, as you mention. And not having lost a piece makes me very happy. Sad? No. I mean there are other puzzles out there, if you know what I mean. But today it felt weird not having any pieces scattered around. I spent many hours and many months on the puzzle and my apartment was set in a way that would benefit the puzzle, not me, so it feels weird to have space again!!! I am also thrilled. have to decide what to do with it yet and I want to piece it together to get the official photo shoot of the complete puzzle in all its wonder. But I want to keep enjoying my achievement for a little while. Let me assimilate what I've done and enjoy a break from puzzling.
