Starting Section 4 - Empezando la Cuarta Sección

As of today, Tuesday, September 24th, 2013, I am officially into the fourth and last stretch that I still have to "walk" in order to complete this gargantuan puzzle. I will not post pictures becuase my idea is to create a stop motion movie that will show section 4 from the very beginning to the very end when the last piece is assembled. I will not set a timer this time around. I wanna take it slow and easy. Still, the puzzle must be finished by December 31st. A partir de hoy, martes 24 de Septiembre de 2013 estoy oficialmente metido en la cuarta y última parte de este gigantesco puzzle. No pondré fotos porque mi idea es crear otro película mostrando como avancé en la cuarta sección desde el principio hasta el fin. Tampoco usaré un reloj de cuenta regresiva. Quiero irme con calma, sin embargo el puzzle debe estar listo antes del 31 de Diciembre.

I set the countdown clock to 30 days, but I forgot that August had 31 days. If I had set the countdown to 31 days I might have finished within the time limit I set myself. Puse un reloj de cuenta regresiva en 30 días, pero olvidé que Agosto tenía 31 días. Quizás hubiese terminado dentro del límite de tiempo que me di.

Almost 9 hours straight puzzling - Casi 9 horas seguidas haciendo el puzzle

I'm beat. My head spins. I need to take a break and eat something. I've been at the puzzle all day, non stop, for about 9 hours. I want to continue, but guess what, I'm doing the dark sky and sunlight is dimming. So it's not easy to distinguish the pieces. Want a beer too. Estoy muy cansado. Mi cabeza da vueltas. Necesito darme un descanso y comer algo. He estado con el puzzle todo el día, sin parar. Quiero seguir, pero adivinen qué, estoy haciendo el cielo oscuro y la luz del día empieza a morir. No es fácil distinguir las piezas. También quiero una cerveza.   

I'm only 120 pieces or so from the goal. Sólo me separan unas 120 piezas de la meta.

7 hours to finish part 3. Just for those thant don't know I put a Countdown Clock a month ago. The goal: to finish section 3 in one month. Will I make it? Hope I will. Ok, gotta get back to the puzzle. I'm also taking pictures to make another stop motion film. 7 horas para terminar la tercera parte del puzzle. Para los que no saben, les cuento que puse un reloj de cuenta regresiva hace un mes atrás. La meta era terminar la sección 3 en un mes. ¿Lo lograré? Espero que sí.. Bueno, debo volver al puzzle. Estoy tomando fotos para hacer una nueva película con el avance.

Well, what do you know, I posted a video of my recent progress on YouTube. Now, ain't that cool? Pues bien, posteé un video de mi más reciente progreso en YouTube. Chori, ¿no?   

On the other hand, I don't think I'm gonna be able to finish section 3 by tomorrow. I set myself to finish this section in one month and I still have like about 1000 pieces to go. We´ll give it our best shot. Por otro lado, no creo que pueda terminar la sección 3 de aquí a mañana. Me puse como meta terminar esta sección en un mes y aún me quedan unas 1000 piezas por poner. Bueno, lo intentaremos.  

By the way, I must warn those who attemp to do this puzzle. In section 3, be very careful with the surface of the sea. It's tricky. You could wind up with a fully assembled section and still have pieces in the wrong place. You'll notice it by the different shade of green and blue of the ocean. It happened to me. I had put some pieces and they fit together fine, but close inspection revealed that they belonged somewhere else. This had not happened in sections 1 and 2. In fact the sea surface in this section was much harder than the two previous sections due to the fact that there wasn't anything on the surface. No animals like in section 1 and no tiger running on the surface like in section 2, so chances of two pieces being similar in shape and very similar in color are greatly increased.  I suspect the sea surface in section 4 will also be tricky since it's kind of similar to the surface of the sea in section 3. 

A todo esto, debo advertir a quienes intenten hacer este puzzle. En la sección 3 tengan mucho cuidado con la superficie del mar. Es complicada. Podrían terminar con la sección finalizada y aún así tener piezas en el lugar equivocado. Se darán cuenta, si les pasa, por las tonalidades verde azuladas del océano. Me pasó. Había puesto unas piezas y calzaban a la perfección pero luego de mirarlas bien me di cuenta que pertenecían a otro sector de la superficie del mar. Esto no me había pasado en las secciones 1 y 2. De hecho esta parte del puzzle, la superficie del mar, fue mucho más difícil que la misma superficie en las secciones 1 y 2 debido al hecho de que no había nada en la superficie. Ningún animal como en la sección 1 y ningún tigre corriendo sobre la superficie como en la sección 2, así que las probabilidades de que hubiesen dos piezas iguales en forma y casi iguales en tonalidad se incrementaron bastante. Me imagino que la sección 4 también será complicada en este sentido ya que es más o menos parecida a la sección 4.            

The Ocean Has Been Conquered - El Océano Ha Sido Conquistado

I spend most of my Sunday puzzling. The goal was to finish the ocean (not including the surface) before monday. Mission accomplished. Pasé la mayor parte del domingo haciendo el puzzle. La meta era terminar el océano (sin incluir la superficie) antes del lunes. Misión cumplida.

Been fishin' - He estado de pesca

Well, 2 weeks and 2 days and this is what I've done so far. I have been working on the puzzle everyday and I spend at least 2 hours each day on it. On the weekends the number of hours greatly multiply since I have more free time than on weekdays. And particularly this weekend I got the flu so I didn't go out or anything, so there was plenty of time to just spend puzzling and that's exactly what I did. Yes, I do go out, I do have a life beyond this puzzle. Haha.  Bueno, 2 semanas y dos días y esto ha sido lo que he logrado hacer. He estado trabajando en el puzzle todos los días y paso al menos 2 horas en él cada día. Y en los fines de semana el número de horas se multiplica ya que tengo mucho más tiempo libre que de lunes a viernes. Y en particular este fin de semana ando resfriado así que no salí a ninguna parte, por tanto hubo harto tiempo para simplemente pasarlo haciendo el puzzle y eso fue exactamente lo que hice. Y sí, yo salgo, tengo una vida más allá de este puzzle. Jaja.
